The Supply Chain Showdown: Mission Critical
Experience the thrill of saving a global company in crisis by optimising its supply chain and finances. Step into the role of consultants tasked with saving a major business suffering from supply chain disruptions, financial instability and public backlash. You’ll need to make decisions on your suppliers, solve shipping and cost challenges whilst deciding what to cut, where to invest and how to win back trust. You’ll then pitch your turnaround strategy in three minutes to our judges.
Level Design Workshop
With a choice of level design activities, use industry-standard tools to manage how the space in the game influences the player experience. You might decide to challenge them with game mechanics, evoke particular moods, tell them a story, or involve them in a mystery. We'll discuss how these goals relate to the goals of the Computer Games Design degree and other games courses.
Experience Education at ARU
Join us for an immersive day that will spark your curiosity and challenge your thinking. Engage with the 'Big Education Question' through an interactive Mentimeter activity, where your voice shapes the discussion. Dive into a hands-on session exploring the development of a child, using interactive equipment to uncover answers to key questions. In this session, you’ll use your cognitive and experiential instincts to brainstorm and experience the role of an architect, discussing and analysing the responses as a group and drawing an overall picture of architects' diverse skills and responsibilities. Build a Cable-Stayed Bridge
Experience the world of engineering and the built environment as you build a scale model cable-stayed bridge using everyday materials. The session will showcase this multi-disciplined industry as you’ll work as a team to create a stable, level bridge deck and learn about load distribution, structural stability and design processes. You’ll also explore resource efficiency and sustainability, making this a fun and insightful way to appreciate the world of engineering and the built environment.

Build a Metal Detector using Arduino
Metal detectors are used in engineering for a variety of purposes. In this session, you’ll work as a team to discover how electronic sensors work by building a metal detector using basic circuit components such as a resistor, capacitor, and inductor (copper coil), powered by microprocessors and microcontrollers. By programming the microcontroller with simple commands, you’ll see how the sensing system detects nearby metals using the principles of electronic filter circuits and inductor sensitivity.

The Digital Heist: Prove Who's Guilty
A major company has been hacked and millions stolen. As legal advisors, your job will be to analyse the facts (and possibly the lies), apply basic legal principles and theories to prepare a short legal argument and solve the case. Each team will present their legal argument in front of the judge before a jury decides the winner.
