Find out what lecturers and students from ARU have to say about our Education courses.

Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. Using a forward-thinking approach, we encourage you to actively develop transferable skills that are relevant across all sectors of the education and social care community.

Having trained social workers as well as educational professionals for over two decades, we continue to produce graduates who make a difference to people’s lives.

We’re the largest provider of education courses in the East of England. Our courses have been designed with you in mind, so you can be sure that you’ll get the experience you need with access to our school partnerships.

Practical experience

We know that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. As a Primary Education Studies student at ARU you:

  • benefit from our network of primary schools
  • have a chance to observe teaching in primary schools
  • make connections between theory and practice by being actively encouraged to spend time in schools within our networks
  • create lesson plans and activities for children.

Lucy

"To the untrained eye, a game of tag is just children running riot. Look deeper and you see how much that child is learning from a simple game: spatial awareness, teamwork, taking turns, gross motor skills development, listening to instructions…”"
