This Level 2 course is ideal if you’re looking to work with animals and want to learn more about their care, handling and management. You’ll delve into a range of topics including animal feeding, animal health and the delivery of treatments to the animals in our care. As well as developing your practical skills, you’ll explore good working practices and pick up essential industry knowledge.

While studying at Writtle College, you’ll learn theory in the classroom and get hands-on experience in our specialist facilities. You’ll use our animal studies centre, with its aquatic, reptile and companion animal rooms. You’ll also gain valuable experience through a work placement which will be for 2 days a week.
