If you're looking to start a career in the horticultural sector, our Level 2 Technical Certificate in Horticulture could be a step in the right direction.

The horticultural sector is made up of many diverse industries delivering the science, art, technology and business of ‘growing plants’. During this course, you'll delve into a range of topics, increasing your understanding in plant naming, identification, selection and science, establishing and maintaining plants outdoors, maintaining tools and machinery, and commercial gardening and landscaping – as well as developing business skills.

This Level 2 Technical Certificate covers the skills you will need to progress to further learning and training, or to start work in the horticultural sector.

Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the necessary technical skills and knowledge they are looking for when recruiting trainee horticulture operatives, landscape operatives or greenkeepers.

You might also choose to continue your studies, by progressing to a Level 3 qualification in horticulture. This may then be followed by a university degree, such as our BSc (Hons) Horticulture in Writtle.
