Travelling to ARU Peterborough

Our brand-new campus in Peterborough is currently under construction, and will open in September 2022.

Open Days and Applicant Days are currently held at Guild House in Peterborough. The address is Guild House, Swain Court, Oundle Road, Peterborough PE2 9PW.

From September 2022 our address will be ARU Peterborough, University House, Bishop's Road, Peterborough PE1 5BW.

How to find us

We’re committed to doing all we can to reduce the environmental impact of traffic travelling to our campuses, and promote the use of public transport wherever possible.

On foot

ARU Peterborough is very central, about eight minutes' walk from Peterborough Cathedral.


Peterborough is easy to get around by bike. It’s flat and has an extensive network of over 200km of cycle paths. There are 11 named and numbered routes surrounded by a 45-mile Green Wheel route which circles the city.


London North East Railway (LNER) trains provide rapid rail connections. Some estimated journey times are:

  • London King's Cross – 50 minutes
  • York – 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Leeds – 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Newcastle – 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Edinburgh – 3 hours 30 minutes.


The main bus station is adjacent to Queensgate shopping centre, and just a short walk from Peterborough rail station and the city centre.

From Queensgate bus station (Peterborough city centre) several Citi buses head towards the Embankment area and make a stop on Bishop's Road.


You can sail to Harwich International Port using:

From Harwich, the train journey to Peterborough takes about three hours. You'll need to make at least one change. By car, the journey takes approximately 2 hours 10 minutes.

  • East Midlands airport to Peterborough takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes
  • London Stansted airport to Peterborough takes approximately 1 hour 10 minutes

  • Norwich airport to Peterborough takes approximately 2 hours 10 minutes.


There are fast road connections via the A1(M) for north-south journeys and the A14 and A47 east-west routes.
