Project on sound design and accessibility awarded Early Career Research Grant

Dr Mariana Lopez has been awarded an Early Career Research Grant by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for the project ‘Enhancing Audio Description’.

The project explores the use of sound design to rethink accessibility to film and television for visually impaired audiences. 

Mariana will be working in collaboration with Dr Gavin Kearney from the University of York as well as with a Project Advisory Panel including representatives from the film and TV industry and the accessibility sector.  Panel members include RNIB, Cam Sight, Sensor Media, Dolby, ITV, Sonorous and writer Lisa Holdsworth.
