Keynote speaker Dr Peter Bonfield, OBE FREng and the Vice Chancellor and President of The University of Westminster, opened our conference this year with a fascinating talk on his involvement with the Olympic Delivery Authority between 2006 and 2012, where he co-created and delivered the Sustainability Strategy and lead on the procurement of construction products.
We went on to celebrate the research activity undertaken by our academic staff, post docs and research students via posters, talks and networking. We also hosted a debate entitled 'Artificial Intelligence (AI): the greatest opportunities for flourishing communities or an existential risk for humanity?', which evoked some interesting conversation.
The day ended with poster prizes awarded by Prof Roderick Watkins, Vice Chancellor, to Mahbubul Himel (School of Life Sciences), Nazia Hameed (School of Computing & Information Science) and Diane Johnson (School of Psychology and Sport Science).
