Terri holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Further and Higher Education (PGCF and HE) and is an experienced teacher of the practical husbandry of farmed livestock, pet and exotic species, with a focus on human-animal interactions.

She also works in conservation and habitat management, and the rescue and rehabilitation of British wildlife casualties, and is particularly interested in regenerative farming and sustainable food production.

Background

Terri joined Writtle University College as an Associate Lecturer in 2016 and has since built up her roles in higher education teaching, course development and programme management and recruitment. She works to facilitate practical student involvement in managing ARU Writtle’s commercial pig unit, growing beef herd and flock of Romney sheep, and is studying for an MSc in Sustainability.

Terri graduated in Animal Science from the University of Leeds with undergraduate and postgraduate research in beef reproduction and dairy cow metabolism. Terri was a Lecturer and Course Manager in further education for eight years and also worked in quality management for Edexcel/Pearson. While working in FE she earned a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Countryside Management and has been a volunteer nature reserve warden for both Warwickshire and Essex Wildlife Trusts.

Terri was Chair of the British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (BWRC) from 2014-2021.
