Sophie is a research assistant working on the Unit of Assessment 20 (Social Work and Social Policy) submission to REF2029.

Background

As a part of her role with UoA20, Sophie also assists with various research projects and on evaluating the impact of research, including in the following areas: the history of social policy relating to caravan sites for Gypsies and Travellers in England from 1960-1990, volunteering in Cambridge and Peterborough health and social care fields, and the training of professionals who work with women veterans.           

Sophie has an interdisciplinary academic background, having completed her undergraduate degree in combined Sociology and Geography and her master’s degree in psychology. Sophie also has a particular interest in social theory and the use of mixed qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
