Dr Carter is an experienced educator in Mental Health and Medical Ethics. He leads the Medical Ethics and Law theme in the School of Medicine.

Background

Dr Carter is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Ethics in Law at ARU. He works part time as a Consultant Psychiatrist working in NE London with a specialism in Early Psychosis.

He has previously worked in postgraduate education and was Director of Medical Education in an NHS trust. He used to lead on the mental health teaching for PAs at Queen Mary. He now leads in the Medical Ethics and Law curriculum at ARU. He is deputy lead for Wellbeing and has written and introduced a curriculum across all years of the medical school. He leads on the introduction of a Sustainability theme into the curriculum. He offers SSCs in ethics, sustainability and mental health.
