Since graduating from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Lida Krimpeni has been working as a geotechnical engineer in Greece, Cyprus and the UK. Her UK industrial experience was while she was working for AECOM before joining ARU. It includes Finite Element Analysis, ground investigation supervision on site, ground investigation reports, geotechnical design of foundations (shallow & piles), deep excavations, slope stability, geological mapping and design of slope retaining system, construction site supervision etc. She has also worked as a project manager and a project engineer, developing technical and management skills and applying health & safety through risk assessment and management.
She got chartered with the ICE in 2019 and she is also a member of the Register of Ground Engineering Professionals (RoGEP).
In 2021 Lida Krimpeni moved to Academia joining ARU as she is passionate about teaching the new generation of civil engineers and contributing towards a valuable learning experience. As part of her teaching, she often organises site visits and laboratory sessions for students in order to broaden their horizons and guide them through options for their future career paths.
In 2023 she completed the PGCert of Teaching & Learning from Anglia Ruskin University which allowed me to develop further my teaching skills.
