Laura's background was in investment banking before moving into the higher education sector. Her primary interests are based around financial economics and women in HE. She is also leading on the department's outreach.
Laura was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Economics at ARU in October 2022. She graduated from the University of Greenwich with BSc Economics and MSc Business and Financial Economics with distinction, and is currently working towards her PhD in Economics at the University of Greenwich.
Prior to joining ARU, Laura held several roles with the University of Greenwich in student recruitment and research and enterprise before moving into a full time academic role. She was also the module leader for several modules and the Programme Leader for the MBA International Business, the largest programme in the Business School.
Her experience includes dissertation supervision for both undergraduates and postgraduates as well as designing and delivering a variety of modules to students of many different educational backgrounds and level of study. These included financial economics and mathematics for economics for both the university and partner institutions overseas.
Laura is currently working on her PhD with the research topic of 'Early warning systems for banking crisis with the inclusion of corporate governance'. Laura's research interests centre on economics and finance, corporate finance, banking and finance and corporate governance. Other research areas of interest are:
