Josny is a nurse with cardiothoracic transplant, surgical and intensive care experience. Along with this, Josny’s experience extends to cardiac rehabilitation nursing and discharge nursing.

Background

Josny started working as an intensive care nurse after graduating from ARU. Josny has specialised into Critical Care and has worked with cardiothoracic and surgical patients. She has also worked with patients in the perioperative stages of cardiothoracic transplantation surgery.

Following on, Josny has completed her Masters in Critical Care Medicine and further specialised into Cardiac Rehabilitation working with patients who have experienced a coronary event or post cardiac surgeries. During the pandemic, Josny actively trained junior nurses, other member of the medical and multidisciplinary team in critical care practices. She has worked with many students’ nurses as their Practice Supervisor and Assessor. Josny then went onto working as a Discharge nurse to gain more experience in coordinating the patient journey from admission to discharge.

Josny currently is responsible for BSc Dual Registration and Degree Nursing Apprenticeship students. She is responsible for ensuring students are supported in theory and in practice.
