Research interests

  • The role of artist as shaman
  • The relationship between thinking, making and learning through Printmaking

John is currently working on a number of large scale woodcuts to form part two of his On Finding Silence series.  The first instalment of On Finding Silence (a series of large scale drawings spanning a 15 year period) was exhibited in the Ruskin Gallery in 2018.  On finding Silence is a continuing body of work that acknowledges, questions and celebrates the existence of an alternate reality, it is a response and a visual documentation to time alone in nature, a nature, that as a race we are destroying.
