John is the Education for Sustainability (EfS) Co-ordinator for the EfS team within the Global Sustainability Institute (GSI). He works with Prof Alison Grieg (Director of EfS), Sarah Strachan (Senior Lecturer Practitioner), students and staffs across all campuses, focusing on embedding sustainability within the curriculum, support green initiatives and various other sustainability projects.

Background

John has over twenty years of experience in the environmental and education sectors, having worked across various organisations worldwide. He has led and designed environmental education programs, produced wildlife enhancement plans, conducted ornithological, bats and a range of other biodiversity surveys for governmental departments, NGOs, and consultancies.  Additionally, he now actively participates in local volunteer conservation efforts and sustainability projects.

After completing his MSc in "Managing the Environment", John has focused his efforts to promoting sustainability and motivating the next generation to enhance our environmental stewardship. He now enjoys collaborating with staff and students, utilising his experiences to support the ARU community on their sustainability journey.
