Professor Frame is an internationally recognised plastic surgeon with a large private cosmetic surgery practice in the UK. He is the current President of the UK Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
Professor Frame’s early education was largely in New Zealand but he qualified in medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. He was House Surgeon to Mr I P Todd and Mr O A Gilmore at Barts, demonstrated anatomy at Southampton University and further trained as a junior surgeon in urology, vascular, cardiothoracic, orthopaedics and paediatric surgery at University College Hospital, London, and Mid Essex Hospitals.
He trained in plastic surgery at University College, London, the North East Regional Plastic Surgery Unit in Billericay, Essex, and the North West Regional Plastic Surgery Unit at Mount Vernon, Middlesex. Professor Frame was appointed Consultant in Plastic Surgery at the world renowned St Andrew’s Hospital, Billericay, in 1990 following the resignation of his mentor, Mr Michael Hackett.
Professor Frame’s special interests have included immediate reconstruction of post-mastectomy breasts, elite athlete soft tissue injury, lower limb trauma and burn injuries. He is a Winston Churchill Fellow (1989) and a prolific author with over one hundred and twenty peer reviewed papers. He continues to be a much invited speaker at international plastic surgery meetings and demonstrates, worldwide, a variety of aesthetic innovations and techniques.
Professor Frame was appointed as the UK’s only Professor in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at Anglia Ruskin University in 2010. Here, he co-founded the Master’s degree course in aesthetic plastic surgery, MCh (PASP). The course aims to meet the personal, professional and educational requirements of surgeons continuing their professional development within the clinical field of plastic and aesthetic surgery.
