Background

With a PhD in Pharmaceutics and extensive industry experience, Dr Bashir bridges the gap between academic research and practical application, particularly in high-pressure homogenisation and nanotechnology.

Before joining ARU, Dr Bashir served as a Pharmaceutical Engineering KTP Associate, leading innovative projects in partnership with Homogenising Systems Ltd. His work focused on optimising processes for liposomal drug delivery, nano-emulsions, and nanocellulose formulations, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmeceutical sectors.

Through his teaching, research, and professional engagements, Dr Bashir aims to inspire the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and advance the frontiers of drug delivery science.

Research interests
  • Development of lipid-based nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery
  • Comparative studies of processing technologies (Piston Gap vs Microchannel Device)
  • Stability and characterisation of nano-emulsions and inorganic dispersions
  • Sustainable approaches in nanocellulose processing

Dr Bashir has presented his findings at international conferences and contributed to peer-reviewed journals, cementing his reputation as a thought leader in pharmaceutical innovation. He is actively involved in mentoring students and collaborating with industry partners to foster research that addresses real-world challenges.
