Dr Fran Hyde is an experienced marketing educator and academic leader. As Deputy Head of School for marketing, entrepreneurship and tourism and the MBA programme, she supports the leadership of postgraduate course provision in the School of Management.

Fran joined Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in 2026 and has extensive experience spanning industry, academia and academic leadership.
Beginning her career in fashion retail in London before moving into the world of fashion publishing, she worked on international titles including Marie Claire, Elle and The Face.
A strong advocate of lifelong learning, Fran gained several professional qualifications, including the CIM Diploma and an MA in Marketing from Kingston University. She transitioned into higher education in 2000, completing a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education at the Institute of Education before earning a PhD from the University of Essex in 2018. Her doctoral research explored the challenges of marketing practice within the hospice sector, an area that sparked her enduring interest in nonprofit marketing.
Alongside her academic and leadership roles, Fran remains an active member of the Academy of Marketing, the Worshipful Company of Marketors and serves as a hospice trustee.
