Bunny’s experience, during more than 20 years in the animation industry, ranges across media from 2D traditional and digital animation to experimental documentary using photographs, computer game software and animated documentary. Collaborative, often community-focused projects have also been central to her practice, which she enjoys, sharing through teaching, whilst continuing to develop independent projects.
On completing her MA in Animation at the Royal College of Art, Bunny worked as a freelance animation director for London based companies, Bermuda Shorts and Slinky Pictures. She directed commercials for The York Dungeons, Kumon and the NCVO, as well as working alongside other directors as an animator, designer or art director on Channel 4 sitcom Pond Life and music videos for Howie B and U2.
She was awarded a BAFTA nomination for her Channel 4 short film The World of Interiors and has directed short films for Film London, S4C and The Arts Council. Bunny has worked collaboratively with other artists and filmmakers on numerous community-focused documentaries with young people and diverse groups in settings which include schools and a women’s prison, addressing topics ranging from knife crime to overcrowded housing and identity.
Bunny has taught animation in Oaklands College, Hertfordshire University, Loughborough University, UCA Maidstone, current external examiner at University of East London and continues as a Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art.
