Background

Amber-Jane's passion has always been animals and she strived to work within the animal welfare industry. Science-based subjects have been a strong interest of hers, and therefore veterinary physiotherapy became the perfect career option for her. She then discovered that she found teaching others about this subject incredibly rewarding and this led her to begin her career as a Lecturer in Veterinary Physiotherapy.

Since qualifying with an Integrated Master’s in Veterinary Physiotherapy, Amber-Jane has worked in practice with both horses and dogs, and feels that she has gained good industry knowledge that she has been able to bring to her role of Lecturer in Veterinary Physiotherapy at ARU in Writtle. This industry knowledge has proven to be very valuable, as she is now part of the final-year Veterinary Physiotherapy lecturing team, who help to prepare the students for their careers following university.

This experience, along with her Level 3 and 4 Canine Hydrotherapy qualifications, enabled her to join the ARU Canine Rehabilitation Clinic, where she works as a Canine Clinic Coordinator. As part of this role, she teaches the Integrated Master’s Veterinary Physiotherapy students in their clinical rotation sessions and also contributes to the teaching of the Level 3 and 4 Canine Hydrotherapy qualifications, alongside treating canine patients.
