Anglia Ruskin University will host several events as part of Mill Road Winter Fair

There will be music, dancing and activities to keep you warm as we enter December, as the 2018 Mill Road Winter Fair takes place next Saturday (December 1).

Anglia Ruskin University is again supporting the event, which sees Mill Road, Cambridge, transformed as stallholders, musicians and dancing groups take over the space between East Road and Coleridge Road.

There will be more than 10,000 people participating in the event, which is known for its special charm and atmosphere.

Anglia Ruskin’s campus on East Road will host several events, including a talk on the History of Cambridge Housing by Tony Kirby and Make and Discover with Cambridge Museums, where you can take part in hands-on craft and art activities.

The Global Sustainability Institute will have a pop-up stall discussing the benefits of ‘experiences’ rather than gift giving at Christmas, and the Cambridge Science Centre will be running an engineering workshop to promote teamwork and creativity.

There will be music from the Cambridge Groove Orchestra, the Cambridge Jazz Festival Choir, and the Cambridge Harmony chorus. Dancing displays include Scottish country dance, South Asian dance, including Bollywood, and a performance by youngsters from Cambridge Razzmatazz.

Miriam Berg, Public Engagement Officer at Anglia Ruskin University, said:

“We are delighted to be part of Mill Road Winter Fair and host many activities on our campus. The fair is a celebration of our local community and we are therefore particularly proud to present a programme packed full of performances and hands-on activities by local musicians and local dance groups as well as interactive science and creative arts for all.”

The fair runs from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
