Professor to chair entrepreneurship organisation

Gary Packham takes key role with National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education

An Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) professor is to play a leading role in an organisation that promotes entrepreneurship in universities.

Professor Gary Packham has been named Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education (NCEE).

NCEE is a platform and collaborative global network for sharing best practices, research and insights related to enterprise, entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership. The aim of the NCEE is to drive economic growth and societal impact by developing a more entrepreneurial Higher Education sector.

Professor Packham is Pro Vice Chancellor for Student Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at ARU, having previously been Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, and has been a member of the NCEE Board for a number of years.

In his current role at ARU, he is the strategic lead for ARU's policy of developing more graduate entrepreneurs and leaders who can transform lives, business and society.

NCEE Chief Executive, Ceri Nursaw, said:

“We are really looking forward to Gary chairing the organisation and benefitting from his broad experience and knowledge. We are undergoing such exciting and huge change initiated by our previous Chair, Professor Ian Dunn, so it is great to have someone that can help us shape and take it forward.”

Professor Packham said:

“I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to Chair such an excellent organisation. I have been on the Board of NCEE for the last few years and have been deeply impressed by the development of the organisation and its potential to support universities. This appointment brings with it the opportunity to build rapidly our membership and I look forward to working closely with the team.”
