Live webinar will discuss impact of self-isolation and the best ways to keep fit

Experts from Anglia Ruskin University’s School of Psychology and Sport Science will discuss how the COVID-19 lockdown is posing challenges for our health and wellbeing – as well as provide tips to keep physically and mentally active – during a live webinar on Thursday, 23 April (3-4pm).

The free online event will see sport scientists Dr Anna Stodter, Dr Francesca Cavallerio and Dr Dan Gordon debate the ramifications of social isolation on the nation’s health, provide their own expert advice for keeping fit, and take part in a live Q&A with viewers.

Dr Dan Gordon, Principal Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at ARU, said:

“Alongside Anna and Francesca, I’ll discuss how self-isolation might be taking its toll on the physical and emotional fitness of the nation.

“Separate to the effects of the virus itself, remaining indoors and prolonged periods of inactivity will already be having some impact on our health and wellbeing.

“We will look at the way exercise habits are changing and what the ramifications of these changes might be post-lockdown, as well as offer some tips for staying healthy right now.”

The free webinar runs from 3-4pm on 23 April and is open to all.  To register, visit https://arusportandhealth.eventbrite.co.uk
