Dr Mark Norrish joins Anglia Ruskin University to strengthen international links
Anglia Ruskin University has appointed Dr Mark Norrish as Pro Vice Chancellor for International and Partnerships, a role that involves strengthening ARU’s links across the globe.
Dr Norrish has been working in Higher Education for more than 20 years, and joins ARU from Coventry University where he was Associate Dean for Global Engagement in the university’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
He has had research published in the fields of medical education, medical ethics and the cultural aspects of international higher education. Prior to his role at Coventry, he spent eight years working in a medical school in the Middle East.
Dr Norrish, who is passionate about travel and exploring other cultures, has an educational background in Psychology and holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge. He is also a chartered member of the British Psychological Society.
Dr Norrish said:
“I have lived outside of the UK for more than half of my life and have developed an enduring interest in cultures, which I still love to explore further.
“I am delighted to be taking on this new challenge with ARU, which has always had a global outlook. I look forward to building on this good work.”
