ARU courses given seal of quality by Society

Biosciences degrees at Anglia Ruskin have been accredited by Royal Society of Biology
A total of 12 courses at Anglia Ruskin University have been endorsed by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) for their high quality.
During a ceremony at the Palace of Westminster, the courses which include Marine Biology with Biodiversity and Conservation, Animal Behaviour, Zoology and Biomedical Science were praised for equipping graduates with the knowledge and skillsets that are valued by employers. Academics, industry experts and graduates attended the event.
Professor Laurie Butler, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Anglia Ruskin, said:
“This recognition from the RSB for so many of our courses shows our commitment to working closely with regulatory bodies to ensure that our degrees are industry-ready and lead to successful careers.”
Dr Mark Downs, CSci FRSB, Chief Executive of the RSB, said:
“Our Accreditation scheme has influenced the way HEIs deliver teaching, and ensures that students at these institutions are receiving a robust biosciences education that equips them with the skill sets and abilities valued by employers.
“We want to ensure all bioscientists, at all stages of their education, can enrol on an accredited course in confidence that they will receive an exceptional standard of training and support.”
Accreditation by the Royal Society of Biology recognises and supports the advancement of skills and education in the biosciences, throughout the UK and internationally. In total, 85 courses from 16 institutions have received accreditation this year.
