Chelmsford campus to host a series of fun family activities on Saturday, 11 June

Anglia Ruskin University will be putting out the bunting for a fun-packed day of family activities to toast Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.

To celebrate the landmark birthday of the UK’s longest-reigning monarch, the Chelmsford campus will host circus acts, a puppet show and musicians to entertain visitors on Saturday, 11 June.

There will also be a host of interactive activities such as cupcake decorating, lawn games, a Royal treasure hunt, arts and crafts where you can make your own crown and Royal-themed bracelet, plus much more. Food will be on sale throughout the day to keep hunger at bay.

The Queen’s building on the Chelmsford campus is named after Her Majesty, who visited Anglia Ruskin to open it on 14 June 1995.

Sian Burnett, Events Manager at Anglia Ruskin University, said:

“Queen Elizabeth is now England’s longest-reigning monarch and has visited Essex on a number of occasions, including when she came to Anglia Ruskin in 1995. Her 90th birthday is a great opportunity for Britons to celebrate with her in whatever way we can.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming people of all ages to our Chelmsford campus, where there will be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.”

The event will run from 10am until 2pm. For further details, visit aru.ac.uk/communityevents
