The Medical Technology Research Centre has successfully graduated many postgraduate research students who have found employment in academic and commercial environments in biomedical, medical technology, pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

We offer cutting-edge research projects in a friendly and motivating research environment.

ARU is a recipient of the Opto-Biomechanical Eye Research Network (OBERON) grant. This EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) will fund training for two PhD students in the MTRC, as well as placements for PhD students from other institutions.

The MTRC's Prof Barbara Pierscionek is Principal Investigator at ARU and Training Co-ordinator for the ITN, which involves eight academic institutions as well as industrial and hospital partners and will fund training for a total of 15 PhD students across Europe.
