Entry requirements

Academic qualification equivalents

for students coming from Poland to Anglia Ruskin

If you’re applying for an undergraduate course (year 1 entry) you must hold one of the following:

  • Swiadectwo Dojrzałości / Matura with overall average of 60-65% including a minimum of two subjects at Extended level.

If you’re applying for a postgraduate taught course you must hold one of the following:

  • Licencjat/Inzynier Bachelor Degree with an overall grade of C/4/Good or higher.

Interested in our postgraduate research degrees? Please visit our postgraduate research pages, where you’ll find entry requirements.

Some of our courses may have extra requirements, such as portfolios for art and design courses. These are outlined in our course pages.

If you don't meet academic requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses then Cambridge Ruskin International College (CRIC) can help. CRIC provides foundation and pre-Masters courses which will help you meet the requirements for our degrees.

English requirements

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.

  • Our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing). We will also accept the Matura at Advanced level with a minimum grade of 70%, providing it was passed no more than two years ago.
  • Our standard entry criteria for postgraduate taught and postgraduate research courses is IELTS 6.5, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing). The Matura is not accepted for postgraduate study.
  • We can accept 70% and above in the English Advanced Level, within the Matura.

If you don't meet our English language requirements, our Anglia Ruskin University Language Centre offers a range of courses which could help you achieve the level required for entry onto a degree course.

Our Language Centre also offers the English language proficiency test (ELPT) in the UK and overseas. To find out if we are holding an ELPT in your country, check our events page or email your country manager.

How to apply

Apply in two easy steps

Applying to ARU is straightforward, though the process for undergraduates changes from July-September. At this time you can apply to us directly, rather than through UCAS.

Our information page for EU students will tell you a bit more about the application process. And, if you have any questions, we're always on hand to answer them. You can contact us by phone, email or live chat.
