Refine your English language skills and prepare for the Occupational English Test (OET) for healthcare professionals, with our total preparation course. Study part-time in Cambridge or Chelmsford.
The OET is an international English language test for healthcare professionals who want to register and work in the UK as nurses, midwives or doctors. It's recognised by the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council as evidence of language proficiency. As it is designed for healthcare professionals, many people are now choosing this as a way to work or study in healthcare in the UK or other English speaking countries such as Dubai, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
The course is held at our Cambridge or Chelmsford Campuses. It is a part-time course designed for healthcare professionals who need the flexibility of part time study to balance with their work commitments. Courses run throughout the year, with start dates every three months approximately. There are 72 hours of classroom tuition, with plenty of opportunity for further study in your own time.
We also offer a four-week OET Exam Focus Course for nurses.
The Occupational English Test is a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – with an emphasis on communication in healthcare settings. Overseas-trained nurses and midwives who are required to take an English language test to gain registration with the NMC need to achieve Grade B across all four OET subtests.
