Full description

Course content

The OET Exam Focus Course runs part-time over four weeks. You'll join us for eight three-hour study sessions, all in the evenings.

You can take a standalone course or combine it with an English Language Skills course, to improve your general English skills before targeted work on OET exam strategies.

Course content includes:

  • understanding the Occupational English Test requirements
  • test strategies for each paper: reading, writing, speaking and listening
  • recognising typical issues and errors for test takers and how to avoid them
  • improving performance, for example using language appropriately for varying medical contexts
  • knowing how to prepare and develop your English language skills outside of the classroom

During the course, you will work on your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills using real-life language.

Our tutors will give you feedback, and set extra work for you to complete outside the lessons. You'll have access to our online learning materials, University library and computer suites.

Course dates and fees

Our courses all finish one week before an Occupational English Test date. This gives you a week to revise, and make use of the exam strategies you've learned on the course.
