Presented by Dr Domenico Vicinanza
Outer space may be silent but within the void lies music waiting to be heard.
For years, scientists have tracked charged particles as they zoom through the cosmos, using deep space probes to measure the particles’ paths and mapping algorithms to translate the data into musical scores. Discover how music can provide a precious tool to explore science and be an amazing source of inspiring art.
Dr Vicinanza is a scientist, composer, researcher and public speaker. He is a Senior Lecturer in Electronics and received his PhD in physics working at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN, Geneva). He is a professional music composer and orchestrator.
