‘Night and Fog’ was directed in 1955 by Alain Renais. It’s an extraordinary documentary about the Holocaust. The film shows eye-witness footage, interviews with concentration camp survivors and perpetrators and footage of treatment of people during the Holocaust.
Discussion with Dr Toby Haggith, Senior Curator, Imperial War Museums (Department of Second World War and Mid-20th Century Conflict), Prof Helen Weinstein and Dr Sean Lang, History Department, Anglia Ruskin University.
Please note that the film contains some very graphic scenes, including piles of dead bodies. In the introductory talk presenters will discuss the motives of the film.
