Discover the story of the first radio broadcast experiments from the Marconi Chelmsford New Street works, and Nellie Melba's famous concert on 15 June 1920.

Our speaker, author and journalist Tim Wander, has appeared on ITV’s About Our Coast, Celebrity Antiques Road Show and even Songs of Praise as an historic consultant. He has written and presented a series of eight programmes for the subscription Titanic Channel and been the script consultant on a large number of TV shows, including the Channel 5 documentary The Savoy Hotel, Andrew Marr’s Making of Modern Britain and Michael Portillo’s Great Railway Journeys.

Tim continues to work with a number of museums and collections, and has designed and compiled a wide range of historic displays and guidebooks.
