Do you know who invented the dishwasher, solar panels or the modern bra? There are some astonishing women whose ideas could be said to have changed the world, even though they have been little-known thus far.
This talk explores why it has taken so long to recognise them, and how their achievements are being celebrated in interesting ways today. Such inspiring figures can help to create positive role-models, and encourage us to be daring and imaginative in thinking about the future.
Presented by Dr Alison Ainley, Principal Lecturer in Philosophy and Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at ARU.
This event is part of Cambridge Festival of Ideas.
