The Mifune Tsuji Trio – Mifune Tsuji on violin, Jin Theriault on saxophone and Paul Jackson on piano – present a concert reflecting the theme of Changes as manifested in musical composition. The eclectic programme includes two minimalist-informed works – Nicola Resanovic’s Serbian-influenced Trio for Violin, Alto Sax and Piano, and Russell Peterson’s arrangement of Changes by the supergroup Yes – André Previn’s playful Tango Song and Dance and Benjamin Britten’s Six Metamorphoses After Ovid. The concert concludes with the trio’s new arrangement of music by the Argentinian tango composer, Astor Piazzolla.
This event is part of Cambridge Festival of Ideas.
