RE-ORGANIZING WELLBEING 

In coordination with a special issue on ‘Re-organizing wellbeing: Contexts, critiques and contestations of dominant wellbeing narratives’, the submission deadline for which is May 1st 2021, we are pleased to announce a Virtual Paper Development Workshop due to take place on March 4th 2021.
This workshop offers an opportunity for scholars to develop their ongoing work submissions for the special issue. The workshop will be developmental with each paper having as a discussant one of the Guest Editors, (David Watson, Norwich Business School, UEA; Chris Land, Anglia Ruskin University; James Wallace, Swansea University; Jana Patey, Norwich Business School, UEA; Zareen Bharucha, Global Sustainability Institute, Anglia Ruskin University), in order to help authors prepare their manuscripts for the upcoming Special Issue submission. Authors will also receive feedback from peers with workshop participants expected to act as discussant for one other workshop participant
Interested authors should submit an extended abstract (no more than 3000 words) of their paper proposal to the Guest Editors via email  by February 8th 2021. Your submitted abstract should describe the rationale and research question/s, theoretical framing and contribution, research design, preliminary findings, and include references. Authors will be notified via email by February 15th 2021 whether they will participate in the workshop. Please note that unsuccessful applicants are still welcome and positively encouraged to submit papers for the special issue! We will only be able to accommodate approximately 10 workshop participants. Before the deadline, we are happy to provide short feedback regarding whether authors’ ideas are suitable for the SI.

Logistics and Support to Participants

We will endeavour to accommodate, authors from different time zones in the workshop, which will take place online. It will consist of a maximum of 10 authors who, along with Guest Editors, will discuss papers and offer developmental advice. The atmosphere will be collegial, informal and supportive, but centred on progressing working papers with the objective of getting them ready to be submitted to the Special Issue.
There is no fee and participants are expected to attend all sessions of the workshop.
