ARU Blogs — Simone

Computer Science student Simone

Faculty:Science and Engineering

School:Computing and Information Science

Course: BSc (Hons) Computer Science

I chose Computer Science because I love to understand the logic behind a computer program – and the idea that I can type a code which determines the computer behaviour.

I believe in the potential of that thousand lines of code, in machine learning, and in artificial intelligence. If they are properly used, I am sure they can change the world, just like Steve Jobs did with the first iPhone in 2007 or Bill Gates with the Microsoft Foundation. In this respect, I hate routines and a monotonous life: can you create something if you spend a whole life doing the same job, in the same environment without imagination and critical thinking?

We create our future, our network and the opportunities. It’s not just luck.
