Six UK-based charities are setting up a joint fund to help their researchers make their work open access.
The Charity Open Access Fund is a project of the Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK, the Breast Cancer Campaign, Arthritis Research UK, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, and the British Heart Foundation.
Researchers at institutions with funding from these charities can apply to the fund to cover the costs they incur when publishing papers with immediate, unrestricted open access.
