BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing
Hey, I’m Kat. I’m 26 and a second year Adult Nursing student on our Chelmsford campus.
I love education so much I’m back for a second degree. I graduated from Bath Spa University in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Diet and Health. I’ve always had an interest in health and physiology however I wasn’t sure whether to pursue dietetics or follow the SaLT route into healthcare.
Following a year of gaining work experience in education and healthcare, in the summer of 2011, I spent six months in the USA working with adults with learning difficulties and disabilities and this was the catalyst for my career change. My sister is a midwife in Southend and suggested I visited Anglia Ruskin to see what they had to offer, and I’ve never looked back! My partner lives in Chelmsford and is incredibly supportive of my career decision and I firmly believe I’ve found my niche. I have a keen interest in critical care and I thrive off the feeling of unpredictability this brings.
I am currently the course representative for my tutor group and I volunteer with the university as much as I can. Outside of uni, I love going to concerts and attempting to keep fit. I like to travel – however, my bank balance doesn’t.
