The eye research charity Fight for Sight is expected to launch a call for proposals in the summer along similar lines to their 2016 call.
Note that the information on the 2016 call is out of date and for guidance only, but we expect the 2017 call to be constructed on the same basis.
Fight for Sight PhD studentships have a value of up to £100,000, supporting a PhD student for three years. This funding includes a stipend at at least £17,000/year, course fees, consumables budget, and purchase of any essential equipment. A competitive process ensures a high quality of project is successful in winning funding, and the funder reported a success rate of around 16% in 2016 with seven projects being funded after peer review. Projects should fit the latest versions of the charity's strategic priorities.
The charity states that their eligibility rules are as follows.
We expect the call to open in July, so do check the page regularly! Information in this post may be subject to change as the new call goes live.
