The annual call for early career fellowships from The Leverhulme Trust is currently open. Up to 100 fellows will be funded this year. The Trust pays 50% of salary cost, to a maximum of £24,000 pa, with a further £6,000 pa maximum budget for research costs.
Fellowships last three years, and must start between 1 September 2017 and 1 May 2018.
The Trust funds fellows in a range of fields, including all subject areas except: 'studies of disease, illness and disabilities in humans and animals, or research that is intended to inform clinical practice or the development of medical applications.' Examples of funded fellowships can be found on the Trust's website. Applicants should have a good track record of research, but not have been awarded a permanent academic post at a UK university (and not hold one during the length of the fellowship). As an early career fellowship, the applicant must have submitted their doctoral thesis between 2 March 2013 and 2 March 2017.
This is an exciting and prestigious fellowship, with strong recognition of its significance. Good luck with your application!
