A trip to Cambridge campus library

15 June 2021

As we all know, things around us have been looking a little different lately. From masks or visors being mandatory to 2m markers being everywhere you look. These are brilliant things that are helping us to keep each other safe during this pandemic but that doesn’t mean they haven’t felt a little strange whilst we’ve adjusted!

I thought it might be a good idea to share with you what the university is looking like at the moment and what the measures that are being taken to ensure that we can use our campus actually look like in practice, when you join us in September.

I took a little trip to the library to collect some books that I’d requested online a few days earlier and took some photos to share with you…

Pop your mask on and step inside to the ‘main entrance’ to the Uni building in Cambridge…

Walk just a little further down the corridor…

And you’ll arrive at the library! Sanitise your hands with the pot on the wall and then you’ll enter as normal (it’s always been one way!). Take a look around and you’ll see a few helpful reminders of how to keep your peers and yourself safe whilst you’re in there…

Great, that was easy and now we’re sorted. Just wipe down the machine for its next user with the sanitising wipes provided and we can head outside…

Now you can take off your mask and breathe in the air around you! A job well done. Hmm, now to read those books…

I hope that gives you a sense of what our campus is looking like at the moment, it still feels to me like a welcoming and safe place to be. Just remember to take care of yourself and those around you, we will get through this together!
