ARU to explore How Labour Governs
Landmark conference will commemorate a century of Labour Governments
ARU’s Labour History Research Unit is organising a conference to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the British Labour Party’s first government in 1924.
How Labour Governs will take place on Saturday 27 January 2024 at ARU’s Cambridge campus, featuring keynote speeches by former Labour MP and Home Secretary Charles Clarke, and Professor David Edgerton of Kings College London.
Talks and workshops will explore the statecraft of Labour in power, examining the record of the party’s time in power and the challenges it has faced in the century since its inaugural government.
If you would like to attend, please book your place using the ARU online store. Booking is essential, and the deadline for bookings is 22 January 2024.
