Kerstin's photos profiled by BBC

Photography Course Leader documents rapid change in Zambian capital

BA Photography Course Leader Kerstin Hacker was recently featured on the BBC's In Pictures for her series of photos from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.

The photos, which document the everyday life of affluent citizens, from chicken take-aways to church services, show the rapid development of the city.

Kerstin said: "What strikes me about Zambia is that there is such ambition in the country. Young people everywhere are working towards building their future. While some of them make small steps, others move fast."

Her photos feature in the exhibition 'Stories of Kalingalinga', which opens at Ruskin Gallery on 16 January 2020.
