New children’s book released by Senior Lecturer in Illustration
A new book by Senior Lecturer in Illustration Allan Drummond was published this month by Farrar, Straus & Giroux Inc.
Aimed at 4-8 year olds, Pedal Power is about how, in 1970s Amsterdam, a group of mums and their children took action to ease the traffic congestion and accident blackspots on the streets of the city. Eventually, their protests and activism led to Amsterdam becoming known as the cycling capital of the world.
Allan has been illustrating and writing children’s books since the 1990s, his previous titles including Green City and Energy Island. He is also a designer, responsible for the murals on show in London’s Holborn tube station, as well as the Royal Mail Millennium stamp The Right to Learn. His client list also includes The New Yorker magazine, Time Magazine and The Daily Telegraph.
You can find out more about Allan’s work on his website.
Pedal Power is available in hardcover or Kindle editions on Amazon.co.uk.
