Ruskin Modules Open Studios: How can Ruskin Modules save the world? Sustainable Development Goals

15 March 2021, 14:00 - 16:00
Workshops take place in the Open Studio channel of our Ruskin Modules MS Teams site

This week we are going to do something a bit more audacious in our Open Studio: Dr Alison Greig (Global Sustainability Institute and National Teaching Fellow) is proposing a "Mission Possible" for the Trailblazers. The first part of this mission will take place in an outdoor location. By 14:00 please find somewhere outdoors which is meaningful to you (e.g. its somewhere familiar, has memories attached to it etc). It should be no more than 10 minutes walk from your indoor desk (where you will participate in the second part of the mission). Take your phone, and make yourself comfortable (e.g. find somewhere to sit), wear warm clothes etc (you can bring a flask!). At 14:10 you will receive an audio message to your mobile and a text version by email with instructions.

Book via Business World with the code RMOS4, or email alt@aru.ac.uk or join us at the Open Studio channel of our Ruskin Modules MS Teams site. Looking forward to seeing you!

Although it is well known that creativity and innovation are key parts of processes of curriculum design, creativity remains a “mystery” only revealed to some few. Notwithstanding creativity is a natural skill of human beings, and as educators we are all the time being creative: from planning the flow of the learning journey, to honing our skills as performers in our lectures, amongst many other creative activities.

In the Ruskin Modules Open Studios series, Dr. Beatriz Acevedo, academic developer for Ruskin Modules (aka: CreatiBeOracle, National Teaching Fellow, 2020) will take you to her actual Art Studio, a space for mess and experimentation. This is serious play in a safe space, where participants slowly and safely acquire specific creative tools, while developing aspects of their Ruskin Modules, or any other L&T endeavour. Treat yourself with a joyful and practical time at the Studio!
