November #TMALT - Digital Media

Ten Months of Active Learning Themes

How to join

The session will be open to colleagues from the UK ALN who should email alt@aru.ac.uk if interested in joining us in Teams for our meeting.

#ARUALN #TMALT

In this network session we will reflect on how audio, video and other forms of digital media can be used to enrich the teaching and learning experience. Drawing upon our own experiences and ambitions for bringing a diverse array of voices into the learning experience, we will sort through a collection of media-enhanced teaching and learning (METaL) scenarios. The scenarios will show digital media to be an inspiring and active learning place for academic innovation. Together we will consider and rate scenarios for the categories of ‘easy wins’, ‘fostering belonging’, ‘deep enquiries’, and ‘interaction’.

In the session we will also update you on plans for our award-winning Active Learning Network and its 10 Months of Active Learning Themes programme #TMALT, and the new Teams space we have created to share our work.

Email alt@aru.ac.uk for a link to join this meeting.

How can social media be used to enhance teaching and learning? This webinar, brought to you by the ARU Active learning Network, will explore several social media platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok. We will consider how these can create powerful opportunities for reflection, collaboration, interaction, networking and engagement in an Active Learning framework. We will also discuss considerations around using social media - including safe usage, privacy and ethics.
