Active Learning Conference – resources

On 11/12 September, we hosted our first international Active Learning Conference, attended by over 170 delegates from institutions around the world, including Iceland, Norway and Taiwan. The conference linked Team-Based Learning at University of BradfordSCALE-UP at Nottingham Trent University and our own active learning practices
We’ve gathered resources on the Active Learning Conference page as well as illustrations from the day and photographs.

Introducing Dr Rachel Berkson

Rachel has joined us as Academic developer: Active Collaborative Learning. She is working with the HEFCE Catalyst project team to increase uptake of active learning methods. The project Scaling Up Active Collaborative Learning for student success focuses on improving student success and engagement, and reducing attainment gaps.

HEFCE seeks to appoint panellists and assessors to review submissions to TEF Year Three and the TEF subject pilots

TEF Year Three panellist and assessor applicants should have experience in higher education at a further education college or alternative provider. The deadline for applications is noon on Friday 6 October. Find out further information and details on how to apply.

Special edition of Journal of Educational Innovation, Partnership and Change focuses on HEFCE-funded catalyst project

A special edition of The Journal of Educational Innovation, Partnership and Change has been released, which focuses on outputs from the HEFCE-funded catalyst project REACT (Realising Engagement Through Active Culture Transformation). The project aimed to embed more inclusive forms of student engagement, intended to enhance the student learning experience, students’ attainment and retention. The journal includes 44 articles focusing on the shifting context of higher education, retention and attainment, partnership approaches and peer learning communities.
