Students currently on a Student Route visa sponsored by ARU must continue to follow UKVI rules and requirements for their visa. We are aware that students on this visa are not permitted to undertake self-employment. Therefore, this guidance is intended for students who may wish to explore or switch to a visa route that allows self-employment after completing their studies.

The AREA CoLab is a dynamic co-working space exclusively designed for ARU students and recent graduates, on our Cambridge campus.
You'll find two dynamic bespoke rooms (Hel 164a and Hel 165) that aim to foster innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit among our budding entrepreneurs, freelancers, and self-employed individuals.
