Supporting international entrepreneurs at ARU

The Anglia Ruskin Enterprise Academy (AREA) offers specialist business guidance for international graduate entrepreneurs interested in exploring the Innovator Founder Visa route - a UK visa designed for entrepreneurs looking to establish innovative, viable, and scalable businesses.

This offer provides tailored support to help graduates understand how to shape their business ideas and prepare for potential endorsement as part of their entrepreneurial journey in the UK.

How we can help

Through one-to-one guidance sessions, international graduates can receive support on:

  • Understanding what makes a business idea innovative, viable, and scalable
  • Exploring how their idea could align with the Innovator Founder Visa requirements
  • Developing a business plan or pitch that meets endorsement expectations
  • Preparing for next steps in establishing a business in the UK

This offer is particularly relevant for ARU startups and spinouts seeking to grow beyond university.

Students currently on a Student Route visa sponsored by ARU must continue to follow UKVI rules and requirements for their visa. ARU is aware that students on this visa are not permitted to undertake self-employment. Therefore, this guidance is intended for students who may wish to explore or switch to a visa route that allows self-employment after completing their studies.
