The Big Pitch is a business ideas competition exclusively for undergraduate and postgraduate students, from any faculty or campus at Anglia Ruskin University.
Our aim is simple: we want to find passionate entrepreneurs with exciting, imaginative business ideas and give you the chance to pitch for money and support in order to make it happen. You don't need to be a business expert; all you need is a good idea. Anglia Ruskin Enterprise Academy (AREA) is here to support you through the start-up journey as the competition progresses.
The competition will run from 1 March – 3 June 2021 and is divided into three rounds.
Submit a 60-second video pitch of your idea to thebigpitch.co.uk. Applications open on Monday 1 March 2021 and close on Thursday 25 March at 12pm.
You'll be notified by Thursday 1 April if you are through to Round 2 – the Virtual Boot Camp.
We are running pitching webinars to help you apply:
Monday 12 – Friday 16 April 2021, as selected by the public vote and judging panel
Students with the 20 brightest business ideas will take part in a virtual boot camp.
There'll be a variety of interactive webinars: business planning, financial planning, marketing, presentation and pitching skills. All attendees will deliver a five-minute pitch to a panel of judges followed by a Q&A session. Six of the best will progress to the Grand Final.
Thursday 3 June 2021
The best of the best take the virtual stage to pitch their business idea to an invited panel of judges.
The prize funding of up to £10,000 and other prizes will be shared among the best entries on the night.
